Position Title:                      NMS Assistant Coach - Football 

Terms of Employment:         Fall Season (August 1 - November 15)

Supervisor:                         Athletic Director

FSLA:                                 Non-Exempt 

 

General Description

The position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, character, and coaching instruction at a public middle school.  Responsibilities include supervising teams at middle school levels.

 

Essential Job Functions

• Be responsible for instruction in all phases of the sport of Football.
• Works with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
• Provides guidance and encouragement to help students profit from their participation.
• Maintain compliance of Nottoway County Public Schools and Virginia High School League rules, regulations, and policies that pertain to athletic programs.
• Encourages community partnerships that enhance district programs and services.
• Works with the athletic director to evaluate program needs.
• Promotes the proper use and care of equipment and school property.
• To foster, develop, and communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, administration, community and the media.
• Manage financial items with the team, staff, parents, administration, and community.
• Participate in athletic department fund-raisers.
• Complete all necessary forms, including VHSL required master eligibility forms.
• Maintain proper records, including VHSL physical forms, insurance information, team statistics and information.
• Be knowledgeable of, monitor, and maintain compliance of pertinent health and safety practices.

• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation
• State Police Criminal History Investigation
• Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
• Department of Motor Vehicles Record Check (for positions requiring driving)
• Tuberculosis Screening/Test
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
