TITLE: FOOD SERVICE WORKER (Full time, Part-time, Hourly)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To assume the responsibilities and duties designated by the Food Service Manager.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate education to perform required duties.
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions either written or oral.
- Personal standards of appearance and dress commensurate with those required by Food Service.
- Desire and willingness to put forth best effort in all assigned duties.
- Emotional stability and physical fitness to perform duties assigned and must be able to lift forty
- (40) pounds.
- Ability to perform both moderate physical work and continuous standing.
- Ability to learn prescribed food preparation methods.
- Courtesy and tact in dealing with people.
- Committed to the development of the School Food Service program as a part of the entire educational program of Nottoway County Public Schools.
- Such alterations to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Principal, Food Service Manager or Designee

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- To perform to the best of his/her ability a variety of tasks necessary to operate a school lunch program. Participate in teamwork tasks once your assigned duties are completed.
- To keep records of amount of food prepared and amount of food sold as directed by School Food Service Manager.
- To maintain an orderly kitchen and perform routine cleaning tasks according to job assignment by School Food Service Manager.
- To cooperate fully with the School Food Service Manager and work for harmonious relations with others in the kitchen, with students and with school personnel.
- To report to and discuss with the Food Service Manager any problems which arise.
- To notify the School Food Service Manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
- To follow all policies of the School Board and instructions of the School Food Service Manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personal standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties.
- To unpack and assist with stocking dry storage shelves and/or freezer I refrigerator shelves and assist in conducting inventories.
- To properly segregate and dispose of recyclable items.
- Must have ability to lift and carry approximately forty (40) pounds.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Full-Time: 185 days
- Part-Time: 180 days (Hourly-Part-Time)

Performance will be evaluated by the Supervisor of Food Service or Designee in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of support personnel.
