Position Title: Boys Soccer Coach - Assistant
Terms of Employment: Spring Season (February 17 - May 15)
Supervisor: Athletic Director
FSLA: Non-Exempt
General Description
The position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, character, and coaching instruction at a public high school. Responsibilities include supervising teams at varsity and junior varsity levels.

Essential Job Functions
- Be responsible for instruction in all phases of the sport of Soccer.
- Works with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
- Provides guidance and encouragement to help students profit from their participation.
- Maintain compliance of Nottoway County Public Schools and Virginia High School League rules, regulations, and policies that pertain to athletic programs.
- Encourages community partnerships that enhance district programs and services.
- Works with the athletic director to evaluate program needs.
- Promotes the proper use and care of equipment and school property.
- To foster, develop, and communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, administration, community and the media.
- Manage financial items with the team, staff, parents, administration, and community.
- Participate in athletic department fund-raisers.
- Complete all necessary forms, including VHSL required master eligibility forms.
- Maintain proper records, including VHSL physical forms, insurance information, team statistics and information.
- Be knowledgeable of, monitor, and maintain compliance of pertinent health and safety practices.

- Maintains great attendance and is punctual.

- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation
- State Police Criminal History Investigation
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
- Department of Motor Vehicles Record Check (for positions requiring driving)
- Tuberculosis Screening/Test
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
